LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
Growing up in a house of ongoing chesed, the road was paved for me 40 years ago to join the Bikur Cholim organization of this community with all its chesed opportunities.
To be a link in the chain of Chassadim that my parents A’H did for others. Also, as hakaras hatov to Hashem for giving me clarity on how and when to help people in need.
I wanted to be part of this special group of women who devote their time and energy to the community. They continue to inspire me everyday.
G’milas Chassadim is one of the mitzvos that touches so many Yiddish Neshamos.
I have personally experienced the invaluable help Bikur Cholim FT &FR offers and I am grateful to have the opportunity to participate in perpetuating its meeting the needs of the community.
I am inspired by all of you ladies who have been doing chesed for so many years! I joined because I really enjoy helping people!
As an RN in the community, I saw Bikur Cholim responding to needs that were not otherwise available to our people.
I grew up in a home that saw Bikur Cholim being done on a daily basis and always wanted to emulate my parents’ home.
When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, but it changes the world.
My mother, Hinda Karmel, one of the founders of this branch of Bikur Cholim, believed that chesed (giving or getting) is vital to us as individuals and helps us thrive as a nation. I grew up in a home that saw Bikur Cholim being done on a daily basis and always wanted to emulate my parents’ home.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
I joined Bikur Cholim following my mother’s role model both in Columbia, South America and the US. I continued because I saw and continue to see how much we are needed and the happiness we bring to those we help.
Kindness – it costs nothing but means everything
